Quartzsite Arizona, Is This the First Attempt for Perfect Democracy

by on July 26, 2011

Or is this a sad failed attempt of turning a Republic into a perfect Democracy. The world is watching because the majority is to ignorant to know or understand the form of our own government let alone understanding another foreign form of government. Foreign countries find America to be entertainment as we lose track and fall far from what many thought might be the perfect Government. Outside of the United States the majority ridicules us and laughs at our education systems saying it is an attempt to “dumb down the majority.” When we speak or act out as the minority, exercising our sovereignty, we can then be considered a threat to the Nation under the new Patriot Act.

While the town of Quartzsite, located in Arizona near the border of California, continues to be the highlight of ridicule around the world the council continues with their confused and pathetic actions.   What is clear and the reason the world wants to watch what unfolds in this small town is the fact that the council continues to conduct their political actions in the form of a democracy.  A democracy is that form of government in which the sovereign power resides in and is exercised by the whole body of free citizens directly or indirectly through a system of representation, as distinguished from a monarchy, aristocracy, or oligarchy. What the council, town manager, and chief of police fail to understand is that the Constitution guarantees to every state a Republican form of government (Art. 4, Sec. 4). No state may join the United States unless it is a Republic. Our Republic is one dedicated to “liberty and justice for all.” Minority individual rights are the priority. The people have natural rights instead of civil rights. The people are protected by the Bill of Rights from the majority. That form of government in which the powers of sovereignty are vested in the people and are exercised by the people, either directly, or through representatives chosen by the people, to whom those powers are specially delegated.

In a republic in which live, if we the people feel our representatives are not using their power appropriately even the minority may exercise their powers of sovereignty and be heard and protected by the bill of rights. In a pure democracy, 51% beats 49%. In other words, the minority has no rights. The minority only has those privileges granted by the dictatorship of the majority. It will not be long until the intimidation, harassment, and unfair actions of the Chief of Police and Council will form the town into a perfect democracy and far from what was originally a Republic. The majority of Americans and obviously the majority of the voters in Quartzsite Arizona are unaware of the difference between a democracy and a republic. The council and Chief of Police continue to take the voices away from the minority and blatantly have a strong belief that the majority wins and to win one needs to lie, intimidate, and cover-up to keep the majority unaware and satisfied. The actions of the council have spread around the world through video and voice recordings.

  1. The council began by stripping the powers and duties of the Mayor before being sworn to office.
  2. The council voted to have Jennifer Jade Johns arrested while speaking during “open to the public” portion of a council meeting. She was removed from the podium for what the council said was disrespect for the council and turning her back to speak to the people. The same actions were also committed by a council person Jose Lizzaraga but no actions were taken.
  3. Court hearing where Councilman Winslow asks a judge to remove the rights of a precinct committee person’s right to bear arms, and issues a restraining order to not attend council meetings. The councilman makes more threats and more of a dangerous of threats to the precinct committee person than the other way around.
  4. The Chief of Police has intentionally stalked persons of the opposing political party he is supporting. While campaigning council members have in the past made remarks such as “I am protected by the Chief of Police.”
  5. The Chief of Police decides to make an arrest not by the actions that were taken but more by the person performing the actions. Whereas a constable serving the city council was shoved by a campaigning politician in favor of the chief, was not arrested even though the chief observed the whole thing. When Russell Sias served papers to the city he handed a documents intended for the chief and the chief refused. Russell Sias then pushed the papers into the chiefs folded arms and was arrested on the spot. Check minute 1:50
  6. The Council is the higher authority on whether one can conduct a business within the town limits. The council decides what is competitive and how much competition should be allowed though many council members are business owners or have personal interest with businesses in the town. In the provided video the council is deciding on propane sales even though this is conducted every year by the same vendors. The council in an effort to snuff out year round vendors recently changed vending permits to 6 months and can decide if you are eligible for a permit based on decision of the council alone. A code violation of the first offense is enough to revoke a business license.
  7. Town Council has many times made the decision if they “want to hear” someone speak or not, at council meetings. Their actions were shown by not showing up to council meetings, walking out of council meetings, or having speakers removed by police force.

You said it all. I can’t believe how corrupt this town council and police chief are. It sickens me that the council continues to violate the Town Code by conducting illegal meetings. Today’s meeting was the third illegal meeting in a row. I have read that walk through metal detectors were installed yesterday for the public to walk through for today’s meetings. Can you say Paranoia!
